How did you come up with the name?

When Ashley’s first opened in 1989 Kerry, along with his late partner Louis, wanted a name that began with the letter “A“. Back then, folks still used the phone book and a name that started with “A” would be first. Kerry’s first niece was named “Ashley,” and so “Ashley’s” it is.
Why start a business in this town?
Find out what's happening in Windsorfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
Kerry had moved to town about 10 years earlier. Growing up in the military, he moved a lot and never set roots down in one place for more than a year or two. Windsor felt like home, so it seemed fitting that when the mall was being built only minutes from where Kerry lived, he figured, why not?!
What business are you in?
Retail jewelry, custom made sterling silver, 14K, 18K, and platinum jewelry diamond engagement and wedding bands.
What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
Getting more folks to shop locally. Windsor has many great restaurants and stores that offer many unique items. Shop small!
What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?
Being accepted into a town that I did not grow up in. We have just celebrated our 26th anniversary, and continue to provide the best customer service to such great folks.
How does your business give back to the community?
Each day we try to give back in whatever way we can, supporting both financially and with our time. A couple of weeks ago Carissa and our store manager Annette enjoyed an afternoon at Goslee Pool making bracelets. Both boys and girls enjoyed designing and threading beads to make a gift for someone special in their lives. We also host a lemonade stand in July in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and support Windsor Little League to name a few.
