Windsor State Rep. To Run For Hartford Mayor

A local state representative has thrown his hat in the ring for Hartford mayor.

WINDSOR, CT - State Rep. Brandon McGee, a Democrat, has announced his candidacy for mayor of Hartford. The Hartford Courant reported that McGee, 34, made the announcement in front of his childhood home on Barbour Street and was spurred to run by issues like inequality and subpar housing.

McGee's district includes Hartford and Windsor. He was elected to a fourth term in the House last November. McGee will face several other candidates, including incumbent Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, who will be running for a second term.
