Windsor's New Pop Warner Football, Cheerleading Registration
Registration for the 095 Junior Warriors will be on Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to noon.

WINDSOR, CONN. - Windsor youth are invited to join a new Pop Warner youth football and cheerleading organization. The 095 Junior Warriorsis a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to collaborate with the local school community to develop and prepare youths between ages 8 and 14 to become self-sufficient, life-long learners. The 095 Junior Warriors program is open to all children and will not exclude eligible participants due to gender, weight, race, religion, color, national origin, alienage, disability or expression.

Registration for the 095 Junior Warriors will be on Saturday, May 15th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Windsor High School's Jack O'Brien Stadium on 25 Sage Park Road in Windsor. It will take place rain or shine.
"The 095 Junior Warriors' purpose is to partner with Windsor High School's current Football and Cheerleading Coaches to implement programming that will enhance skill development in the areas of team building, athletics, strength and conditioning, academics, wellness, community service, and career planning," explains Paul Broxterman, President of the new 095 Junior Warriors organization. "Our program hopes to register up to 200 boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 14 in the coming year. We also plan to expand our outreach and work with other groups within the community to celebrate youth achievements and family diversity."

Broxterman adds that a free Youth Football Skills & Drills Clinic will be hosted by the 095 Junior Warriors on Saturday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.The clinic is open to boys and girls, ages 5 through 14, regardless of whether they play on a team or not. Instruction will be by former college players and high school coaches. No equipment is required. "The first year of a sports program is the most expensive due to purchasing new equipment and uniforms," says Rob Fleeting, Chairman of the new organization and Head Coach of Windsor High School's football team. "095 Junior Warriors families will pay a $200 per child yearly membership fee for football or cheerleading. But more funds will be needed to cover other startup costs and the organization is planning fundraising activities and we hope that Windsor residents and businesses will step forward to help."
