WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A fire in the Woodlands Condominium complex in the north end of Windsor Locks claimed the life of an elderly man Sunday afternoon, according to fire and police officials.

The fire at 94 Woodcock Court, reported at 2:49 p.m., was confined to the living room, and was quickly brought under control, Fire Marshal Michael Sinsigalli said. However, emergency personnel found David Lingua, 76, dead on an outside porch area suffering from burn injuries, police Lt. Paul Cherniack said.

Lingua's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Farmington for an autopsy. His cause of death is "pending further studies," according to Linda Sylvia of the OCME.

Windsor Locks detectives responded, and the case remains open. Cherniack said there is "nothing to suggest foul play at this time, however we will withhold a conclusion pending presumptive results from the medical examiner."
