Bathroom Fire Evacuates Family In East Windsor

EAST WINDSOR, CT — Firefighters quickly extinguished a bathroom fire in a home on Rose Court Thursday morning, but all occupants of the residence escaped without injury, according to Warehouse Point Fire Chief James Barton.

At 10:23 a.m., the Warehouse Point Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 11 Rose Court. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the residence, but the occupants were out of the home and reported a fire in the bathroom, Barton said.

Firefighters quickly made entry into the home and encountered the bathroom fully involved with fire. A primary search of the residence confirmed all occupants had been safely evacuated, and the fire was quickly extinguished, Barton said.

Mutual aid was provided by the Broad Brook Fire Department, while Enfield and Windsor Locks fire departments provided assistance, Barton said.

The fire marshal's office determined the cause of the fire to be accidental, according to Barton.

Assistance to the family of two adults and two children is being provided by the American Red Cross.
