Good morning, Windsor Locks and East Windsor! Today is Tuesday, April 2, 2013; there are 273 days left in the year.
Every year it seems like April Fool’s Day brings more and more elaborate pranks, even from the corporate world. Like everything else in the world, some are good, some are bad and some are just plain ugly.
Here’s my list of the top 3 from this year:

1. Google Nose. The eponymous search engine/world ruler made me chuckle again this year, this time with a beta-tested smell function. Bravo.
2. Netflix’s hyper-focused categories. This one actually delivers a service, breaking down films into categories such as ones that feature Nicolas Cage freakouts.

3. Scope’s bacon-flavored mouthwash. Presumably this is an April Fool’s joke. But a man can dream, can’t he?

1. The votes have been tallied and the results are in: Congratulations to Lissette Comstock, who created this beautiful and colorful wreath made of PEEPs. Comstock is the winner of Patch’s PEEPs contest for 2013. Now let’s eat!
2. OK, when I got to the pump the first thing that pops into my head isn’t, “” No, I’m still in sticker shock. But, that’s what the good people at GasBuddy.com report, and they spend their time tracking this stuff.
3. These last few days have been warm enough to throw open the windows at home and air out the house.
