Detour to Be Set Up Around Windsor Locks Railroad Crossing Work

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — From Friday evening through early Monday morning, a traffic detour will be in place on a segment of Route 75 in Windsor Locks, according to information provided by the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT).

Railroad crossing repairs are scheduled to be performed by the Connecticut Southern Railroad Company on the crossing just north of North Street, just before Dairy Cream. Work includes replacement of the railroad crossing riding surface, according to the DOT.

The segment of Route 75 north of North Street will be closed beginning Friday at 7 p.m. through Monday at 5 a.m., unless the work is completed sooner, the DOT said.

Northbound motorists will be detoured west onto Beacon Hill Road, then north onto Light Lane back to Route 75. Southbound motorists will be detoured west onto Light Lane, then left onto Beacon Hill Road back to Route 75. Traffic control personnel, police and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour, the DOT said.
