Two businesses near the Enfield town line had glass doors shattered, then an auto repair shop on Route 5 was also burglarized.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — Two businesses in close proximity to one another near the Enfield town line were burglarized late Sunday night, then a third business, on Route 5, was victimized early Monday morning.
Around 10:30 p.m., police received reports of break-ins at the Golden Irene Restaurant at 18 Mullen Road and Town & Country Auto Body at 174 North Road. Glass front doors had been shattered at each. Around 1 a.m., Ricks II Auto Repair at 140 South Main Street was also burglarized, police said.
"We believe the crimes were committed by the same suspect, and we do have leads as to the identity of the suspect," the East Windsor Police Department reported on its Facebook page.

The page administrator wrote, "I did speak to George Akkouris, owner of Golden Irene Restaurant. George has been a leader in our community throughout the pandemic as we all have seen his daily videos where he encourages those in need to come in for a free meal. George stated that he wished the suspect would have come to him looking for help instead of breaking in to look for cash. That's who George is, always looking to help. Now, George is left with $2,000 worth of damages. I am sure the other business owners are in a similar situation. We will work hard to bring justice to our business owners."
