East Windsor's Alexander Bilodeau Performing in Hartford Stage Company's 'A Christmas Carol'

The show runs from just after Thanksgiving to just after Christmas.

East Windsor’s Alexander Bilodeau, 13, will be playing Peter Cratchit in the Hartford Stage Company’s production of ”A Christmas Carol” running from Nov. 28 to Dec. 28.

The theater company announced the Hartford-area children in the cast on Monday. This year will be the 17th Hartford Stage Company production of the play.

Performances run weeknights and weekends at 7:30 p.m., with matinees on Saturdays, Sundays and some weekdays at 2 p.m. For the full schedule, visit the theater’s web pages for the play.

The show runs about 1 hour, 45 minutes and is recommended for children 8 years old and older.

“Family Fun Night” is Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6:30 p.m. On that night the theater encourages you to bring kids to see the play. “Before the show, our spooky ghosts will greet and entertain,” according to a Hartford Stage news release. “After the show, get autographs from all your favorite characters! The event is free with the purchase of a ticket for that evening’s performance.”

On Dec. 6, 7 and 14, the theater has “market days” in which local vendors will sell gifts in the lobby, where anybody can enter without admission from12:30 to 2 p.m. If you buy matinee tickets for those days, you can shop during the intermission and after the show.

On Tuesday, Dec. 9, “Hartford Stage will host a sensory-friendly performance (of the play). Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a theatre experience that is welcoming to all families of children with autism or other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities. This will be the first time that Hartford Stage has offered this type of performance for the community.”

(Editor’s note: The attached video says the opening date for the play is Nov. 29, but the website and news release say Nov. 28.)
