EAST WINDSOR, CT —Firefighters from Warehouse Point and Broad Brook, as well as several neighboring towns, battled a "well-involved house fire" Monday night at a circa 1800 home on North Main Street, just over the Enfield town line.
The blaze at 7 North Main St. was reported just after 7:30 p.m., with crews encountering "heavy fire and smoke on the second floor and cockloft" of the 2-story, 2,081 square-foot, 10-room wood frame Colonial. After an initial defensive operation to knock down fire in the walls, emergency responders re-entered the house, according to fire officials.
Firefighters from Windsor Locks, Enfield and Ellington assisted at the fire and helped provide station coverage, officials said.
