Former East Windsor Man Charged In Connection With 2013 Slaying
The shooting death in Hartford was related to drug trafficking crimes, according to a U.S. Attorney.

HARTFORD, CT — A former East Windsor resident currently serving a term in federal prison on a narcotics conviction was charged Tuesday in connection with a 2013 murder case in Hartford.
Antwane Williams-Bey, 30, was formally charged with the drug-related murder of Valentin Santos Jr., 21, in Hartford on Aug. 12, 2013. A federal grand jury in Hartford had returned an indictment against Williams-Bey on Sept. 24, 2020, according to John H. Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, David Sundberg , Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Hartford Police Chief Jason Thody.
According to the indictment, Williams-Bey murdered Santos in relation to and in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes, and did so deliberately, maliciously and with premeditation, Durham said.

Williams-Bey, who has been detained in federal custody since Feb. 2017, entered a plea of not guilty via videoconference before U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas O. Farrish. If convicted of the charge, he faces a mandatory term of imprisonment of life, or death if the government seeks the death penalty in the matter, Durham said.
