Great Feats By Windsor Locks, East Windsor College Students

WINDSOR LOCKS/EAST WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

St. Lawrence University, Canton NY

• St. Lawrence University student Bryan McLennan, from Windsor Locks, was a member of the University's Fed Challenge team that earned second place out of 85 colleges and universities in the 17th annual National College Fed Challenge. St. Lawrence was the only liberal arts college to earn a spot in the final round. Team members attributed their success to the critical thinking skills they acquired in the classroom and the real-world learning opportunities that faculty and alumni help to facilitate beyond it. McLennan is a member of the Class of 2022 and is majoring in economics. He was also selected for inclusion on St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for academic achievement during the fall 2020 semester.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce the fall 2020 Dean's List, including four local students: Derick Arhin and Asha Patel of Broad Brook, and Hannah Rossignol and Rachel Severns of Windsor Locks. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Joshua Conniff, of Windsor Locks, is among more than 500 students named to the Western New England University fall 2020 President's List. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.80 or higher.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Nicholas Willey and Noah Willey of Broad Brook, members of the class of 2023, made the Dean's List at WPI for the fall 2020 semester. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
