WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A burglary in progress was interrupted by a Spring Street homeowner around noon Monday, prompting a Massachusetts resident to flee the scene before being captured on a nearby farm.

Michael Mesick, 31, of Feeding Hills, Mass., was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, reckless driving and disobeying the signal of an officer. Bail was set at $20,000.

When the homeowner came upon the burglar at his home, the suspect, later identified as Mesick, fled the area in a vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed and making the situation unreasonable for a pursuit, police said.
