Route 20 was briefly shut down while a team worked to corral the animal back into the woods.

EAST GRANBY, CT — Route 20 was briefly shut down Monday morning after a moose was spotted in a rental car parking lot.

State police said the moose was trapped in the Enterprise Rent-a-Car parking lot, prompting the brief roadway shutdown while a team of state troopers, East Granby police officers and personnel from the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection tried to shoo it out of the lot.

The responders were able to corral the moose back into the nearby woods and swamp land, police said.
