Picture Windsor Locks - Then And Now

An old photo and brief story from Windsor Locks history, and how that site appears today.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — For today's look back into Windsor Locks history, we open up the 1980 edition of the high school yearbook, The Herald. On page 207, we find an advertisement for Midtown Garage, located in "the triangle" at 6 North Main St.

Being from out of town, I know nothing about this business, other than observing the large sign indicating it was a Mercury-Lincoln dealership. Hopefully our readers can provide some more insight.

The property was recently taken over as home to Vinnie's Little Acre, a farm stand owned and operated by Vincenzo Cianfarani Jr. He has returned to town, where he initially opened in the Windsor Locks Commons in 2005 before moving to Bassdale Plaza in East Windsor three years ago.
