WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A member of the Windsor Locks High School community has been instructed to remain home in quarantine for two weeks after testing positive for coronavirus.

A notification from Superintendent of Schools Shawn Parkhurst did not identify the person as a student, teacher or staff member. However, the letter said the person was last inside the high school Sept. 8, which was the first day of classes. School officials received notification of the positive test Tuesday.

"We have not received any other reports of students or staff members experiencing illnesses
with symptoms resembling those of COVID-19," Parkhurst wrote. "Anyone considered in “close contact” with this person should have been contacted, or will be contacted, by school or local health officials and provided with instructions on the appropriate steps to take. Close contact is
being within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer in duration."
