Sexual Assault Charges Filed In Windsor Locks Against Windsor Man
Police believe the potential for additional victims may exist, and encourage any victim to contact the department for further investigation.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A Windsor man was arrested by Windsor Locks police last week in connection with a sexual assault case involving a teenage girl reported in early January, and police said he is also being investigated regarding several other similar complaints in Windsor and California.
Akin Jamal Warner, 25, was charged with first-degree sexual assault, and is being held at Hartford Correctional Center in lieu of $500,000 bond, police said.
According to a statement from Windsor Locks police, the department received a complaint of a sexual assault involving a 17-year-old girl on Jan. 3. During an investigation, detectives learned of three other incidents involving Warner, with similar circumstances in each case. They also learned he had lived in Orange County, California within the preceding year, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office had two open sexual assault cases involving the same suspect and methodology.

On Jan. 27, detectives obtained an arrest warrant and search warrant (DNA) for Warner’s involvement in the Windsor Locks incident. Around 1:21 a.m. on Jan. 28, Warner was taken into custody without incident at his home in Windsor, police said.
Windsor detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Warner, also charging him with first-degree sexual assault, with a court-set bond of $750,000. That warrant was served on Warner Wednesday at the Hartford Correctional Center, police said
