Shooting Death of Teenager Under Investigation In Windsor Locks
A 16-year-old was shot to death following a dispute in Pesci Park late Wednesday night, according to police.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A dispute between multiple people at Pesci Park ended in the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy Wednesday night, and police are actively seeking the person who pulled the trigger.
Around 10:19 p.m., police received 911 calls relating that someone had been shot in the park at 89 Center St. Officers immediately responded and found the victim lying on the ground just outside of the baseball field. The victim appeared to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Lt. Paul Cherniack said in a written statement.
The victim was transported to an area hospital, and was pronounced dead at 10:52 p.m. His family was notified, and an autopsy will be performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Cherniack wrote.

Initial investigation revealed a dispute had occurred between various people which culminated in the park, where a male produced a semi-automatic pistol and fired numerous shots at the victim, then fled the park in a black or dark colored Lexus, possibly bearing North Carolina or Connecticut plates, Cherniack wrote.
The Lexus was recovered Thursday afternoon in Hartford, and various persons of interest have been identified, though no arrests are imminent, Cherniack said.

According to police, "the shooting appears to be target specific in this case and no evidence of a threat to the general public has been established."
