Shooting Report In Windsor Locks Turns Out To Be a Hoax: Police
A "swatting" incident took place in Windsor Locks early Sunday morning, just hours after a similar call in Enfield, according to police.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Police responded en masse to a reported shooting at the Bradley Apartments early Sunday morning, but the call turned out to be a "swatting" hoax similar to one perpetrated in Enfield hours earlier.
At 12:13 a.m., a VA Crisis Line operator reported receiving a phone call from a female, reporting her mother was beating her, so she had picked up a gun and shot her, and was thinking of shooting herself. The woman also threatened to shoot responding law enforcement officers, police said.
The woman stated she was at 277 Elm Street. Police responded and began clearing individual units adjacent to the apartment in question, police said.

Police learned the Enfield Police Department received a similar call late Saturday afternoon, which was determined to be a "swatting hoax," the practice of making a hoax or prank call to emergency services, with the aim of provoking the deployment of armed police or SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) teams, police said.
An investigation determined the Windsor Locks call was a swatting hoax as well. No injuries were reported, according to police.
