EAST WINDSOR, CT — Police have identified the victim of a fatal collision between a motorcycle and a car late Sunday afternoon on Route 140 at Sofia's Plaza in East Windsor.

Matthew Mierez, 32, of East Windsor was operating a 2013 Suzuki G-60 motorcycle eastbound on Route 140, known locally as North Road, when the bike collided with a 2008 Buick Lucerne around 4 p.m. Mierez was rushed to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Det. Sgt. Matthew Carl said.

His wife, Maria Mierez, 47, was a passenger and sustained serious injuries. She is listed in stable condition at Hartford Hospital, Carl said.

Police did not identify the 22-year-old woman driving the Buick.

No charges have been filed in connection with the crash, which remains under investigation.
