WINDSOR LOCKS/EAST WINDSOR, CT — Coronavirus cases and hospitalizations have been trending down in Connecticut over the past few weeks.

Connecticut had 36.1 daily average cases per 100,000 population between Jan. 24 and Feb. 6 — that’s the lowest two-week average since early November.

Windsor Locks recorded 18 new coronavirus cases between Feb. 4 and 10. There have been 852 cases recorded since the pandemic began and 27 coronavirus-deaths.

East Windsor recorded 17 new coronavirus cases between Feb. 4 and 10. There have been 313 cases recorded since the pandemic began and 3 coronavirus-deaths.

Windsor Locks had 34.9 average daily cases per 100,000 residents between Jan. 24 and Feb. 6 and a positive test rate of 6.60 percent. There were 54.1 average daily cases per 100,000 residents in the previous two-week reporting period.

East Windsor had 27.6 average daily cases per 100,000 residents between Jan. 24 and Feb. 6 and a positive test rate of 6.40 percent. There were 21.9 average daily cases per 100,000 residents in the previous two-week reporting period. It’s important to note that a relatively small number of cases can have a big effect on the case rate, especially in smaller towns.

Vaccines

The state opened vaccination appointments for people between 65 and 74 years old on Thursday.

Windsor Locks had 1,225 first doses administered as of Feb. 11. About 9.53 percent of town residents have received at least one dose and 52.56 percent of residents 75 and older have received at least one dose.

East Windsor had 947 first doses administered as of Feb. 11. About 8.12 percent of town residents have received at least one dose and 56.10 percent of residents 75 and older have received at least one dose.
