Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Stabbing: Windsor Locks PD
A woman was seriously injured in a stabbing at a hotel late Thursday night in Windsor Locks, according to police.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A Hartford man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of a woman at a hotel late Thursday night in Windsor Locks, according to police.
Police received a call around 10:30 p.m. about a stabbing at Candlewood Suites on Route 75. A hotel guest told police he saw a man, who was holding a knife, and a woman struggling outside a room, according to Lt. Paul Cherniack.
Another call came in from a worker.

“Officers saw a long blood trail from Candlewood Suites to the rear of Day’s Inn,” Cherniack wrote in a news release. “Responding officers saw a male in the vestibule of Days Inn, next door to Candlewood Suites. He was covered in blood and stabbing the woman as officers arrived to confront him. Officers yelled at him to stop, but he yelled back that officers were going to have to kill him, he's not going back to jail.
“Officers fired a stun gun and the assailant ripped a contact probe from his chest. Another officer fired his stun gun which had the desired effect. The officers had a seconds to transition to a less-lethal option in a deadly force situation.

The victim was bleeding profusely and was in danger of losing her life, Cherniack said, and officers treated her wounds until EMS arrived. She was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery. She remains hospitalized, Cherniack said on Friday afternoon.
Victor Virola, 36, was identified as the suspect and was also hospitalized for a cut on his hand that required surgery, according to Cherniack.
Cherniack said Virola was “hostile and uncooperative” during his stay at the hospital.
The Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad processed the scene as Windsor Locks detectives and patrol officers worked the case, according to Cherniack.
Police believe both people knew each other and it is a domestic violence case, according to Cherniack.
Virola was charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault. He is being held in lieu of a $700,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
