An Easton businessman is considering purchasing a Woodbury ski area to transform it into an outdoor music venue.

WOODBURY, CT — A businessman has said he has interest in purchasing the Woodbury ski area to turn it into an outdoor recreation area and concert venue, The Waterbury Republican-American reported. Art Powers, of Easton, will meet with the Woodbury Zoning Commission regarding his plans for the project dubbed "The Hill."

The ski area on Route 47 has been closed since 2016. It's on the market for $900,000, according to The Republican-American.

"The Hill" would include concerts as well as mountain biking, hiking, and camping, but no plans exist to reopen ski trails.
