Chabad Acquires Methodist Church
Chabad Lubavitch of Northwest Connecticut is proud to announce the acquisition of the UMC at 69 West St. in Litchfield, CT.

Litchfield, CT - Chabad Lubavitch of Northwest Connecticut is proud to announce the acquisition of the UMC at 69 West St. in Litchfield, Connecticut, with plans to house Connecticut's Holocaust Museum of Tolerance.
The UMC is one of the most historic buildings of faith on the Litchfield Green and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
In the interim, until Chabad completes its construction of the synagogue next door, it will be used as its temporary house of worship. Chabad plans to maintain it's historic significance without any modifications to the building.

Chabad would like to thank the UMC members, its clergy and counsel for enabling a smooth transition and for ensuring that this important landmark remain in a community faith based organization.
A dedication ceremony is scheduled for spring of 2021.
