CT Diner With 50 Years Of History To Close Christmas Eve

An iconic Connecticut diner will open for the last time Dec. 24.

WATERBURY, CT — A combination of a construction project and a building in need of repair will lead to the closure of a historic Waterbury restaurant, The Tower Grill, The Waterbury Republican-American reported.

The iconic diner is operated by second generation owner Peter Cotsoradis on Freight Street, housed in a building that is in need of repairs. He told The Republican-American that he "doesn't see eye-to-eye" with new landlords on the building's maintenance.

A nearby construction project will cut down parking spaces at the diner to 12. The Tower Grill is expected to open its doors for the last time on Dec. 24. The location opened in 1955.
