Former Nonnewaug Standout Elected to CT Field Hockey Hall of Fame

She and eight other individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Sunday, Sept. 16.

WOODBURY, CT — A former field hockey standout at Nonnewaug High School will join eight other honorees as members of the Class of 2018 of the Connecticut Field Hockey Hall of Fame.

Heather (Waters) Casinghino, a 1991 Nonnewaug graduate, is being inducted as a high school player. The two-time All-State selection led the Chiefs to the Class S state championship in her senior campaign. The previous year, she set a Berkshire League scoring record with 18 goals in a season; she amassed 37 tallies during her high school career. She went on to play at Springfield College, and is currently head field hockey coach at Suffield High School.
