Middlebury Contractor Accused Of Stealing From Client

A contractor has been charged with larceny after he reportedly took money from a client but never performed work.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — A Middlebury contractor has been arrested on charges that he took money from clients but never performed work, according to The Waterbury Republican-American. Samuel Montville, 51, was charged with third-degree larceny and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court Jan. 29.

He is alleged to have agreed to perform siding and window repairs to a Jericho Road home in June, taking a $2,425 deposit and $3,202 for materials, then failing to start the work or return the money to the customer.
