Middlebury Woman Charged With Abuse Of Infant: Report
A former Department of Children and Families investigator has been charged in connection with the alleged abuse of an infant.
MIDDLEBURY, CT — A former investigator for the Department of Children and Families is facing charges in connection with the alleged abuse of an infant she was fostering, The Waterbury Republican-American reported. Margaret Bottone, 52, whose last known address was on Southford Road in Middlebury, was charged with first-degree assault, cruelty to persons, reckless endangerment, and risk of injury to a minor.
Police received a complaint from DCF in December about a one-month-old child who was being treated for life-threatening injuries at Yale New Haven Hospital. Bottone told police she knew the boy's biological mother and had agreed to care for him.
