Obituary: Domenic Computzzi, 90 of Woodbury

WOODBURY, CT - Domenic Computzzi, 90 of Nonnewaug Rd., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at his home. He was the husband of the late Gloria (Rinaldi) Computzzi, to whom he was married for 63 years prior to her passing in 2017.

Domenic was born May 25, 1929, in Waterbury, son of the late Paul and Rose (Deldonno) Computzzi. A lifelong resident of Woodbury, he was a proud vegetable farmer. He was especially well-known for his sweet corn that was sold at many local markets. In addition to farming, he worked as a tool and die maker at Patent Button in Waterbury and then TRW in Cheshire.

Domenic was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling and was an avid fan of the UConn Women's Basketball team. He loved the outdoors and tending to his vast vegetable garden well into his 80s.

Domenic is survived by his daughter, Linda Casper and her husband Steven of Woodbury; his son, John Computzzi of Woodbury; four granddaughters, Shawna Casper, Vanessa Casper, Christina Computzzi, and Alexandra Computzzi. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Computzzi, and his sisters, Laura Colangelo and Christine Young.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday at the Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Platt Road, Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday morning 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
