Sports Cancelled? Nonnewaug NFL Flag Football Is Not

Have you heard about the new Flag Football league in town? Offered as a program through Woodbury Parks & Recreation, Nonnewaug NFL Flag Football will kick off its first season for boys and girls in grades K-8 in just a few weeks!

Although this is a new program in town, it is headed up by a group of parents who have been coaches in other regional NFL Flag and Pop Warner programs. Our mission is to provide a fun and respectful environment for our youth to be with friends and develop as athletes. This league was created based upon “by the kids and for the kids.” Each rule and policy in place were carefully selected with that in mind.

Nonnewaug NFL Flag football has 4 divisions of play, based on grade levels. It's open to boys and girls who live in Region 14 and neighboring communities.

Games will be played on Sundays at Hollow Park. The first games of the day will most likely start mid-morning and run through mid-afternoon. Coaches will hold 1-2 practices a week. The season should conclude in early November.
