"Matt was an amazing young man. Polite, full of enthusiasm, and always a smile on his face. He never hesitated to jump in and lend a hand around the firehouse when he could, even when he was busy with school, athletics, and all that goes into being teenager. He was what every parent wants their kid to be like, and we are honored to have known him for the time that he was here. We will miss him dearly, and extend our deepest condolences to the Rousseau family and our community."

The accident was reported on Town Farm Road and when emergency responders arrived on the scene, they found a car fully engulfed in flames off Rossi Road. The vehicle appears to have left the road, gone down an embankment, and hit a tree, according to NBC CT.
