Two Hospitalized Following Middlebury Accident

Two men were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries following a three-car accident in Middlebury Wednesday morning.

According to police, the accident occurred around 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Ferndale Ave. and Middlebury Road when a 2013 Chevy Impala driven by Donald Goss, 83, of Bethlehem, struck the rear of a 2012 Scion operated by Ryan Geddes, 41, of Morris. Geddes’ vehicle then struck another car, a 2011 Ford Fusion operated by Ryan Neil, 35, of Middlebury.

The Middlebury Fire Department responded to the scene and firefighters handled fluid issues on the roadway, according to police.

Emergency officials helped treat several injures and transported Geddes and the passenger of his vehicle to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic was backed up in both directions for approximately one hour. Goss was found at fault for the accident for following too closely, according to police.
