In the past month or so we have all been reminded of how important it is to wash your hands. The CDC notes that hand washing can help prevent illness. Proper hand washing involves several steps including wet, lather, scrub, rinse and dry. Doing this will help to reduce the spread of diarrheal and respiratory illnesses, like COVID-19.
It is important to wash your hands often especially during the following times when you are most likely to get and spread germs:
- Before, during, and after preparing food
- Before eating food
- Before and after caring for someone at home who is sick
- Before and after treating a cut or wound
- After changing diapers or cleaning up a child that has used the toilet
- After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
- After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste
- After handling pet food or pet treats
- After touching garbage
Tours of Distinction knows these are all common sense things, but we decided to write this checklist out to help folks keep these protocols top of mind! We know this situation is temporary and that things will go back to normal, but we also think that it is a good time to be aware of recommended CDC practices and suggestions!
