Woodbury Firefighters Practice Emergency Bailout Procedures

Woodbury— “If you are trapped in a building fire and have to bail out fast from an upper floor, a possible broken ankle is not a worry,” says Fire Lt Chris Start, a nationally recognized expert in rope rescue techniques. He and ten members of the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department ran through window escape procedures with guidance by instructors from Flash Fire Industries, Monroe Ct. The refresher exercise at the department parking lot on Saturday May 21st used a mockup building tower rigged with a safety line.
