9TH PLACE FINISH FOR DSU MEN AT MEAC XC CHAMPIONSHIP

Smyrna, Del. (Oct. 26, 2019) --- The Delaware State men’s cross country team posted a ninth place showing in the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship at the DSU Outreach and Research Center Course on Saturday.

The Hornets had a combined team score of 201 points.

Norfolk State won the race for the second time in three years and captured its 13th overall MEAC title with a score of 25 points in the 11-team race.

The Spartans had four of the top five finishers , including individual champion Meshac Kipchirchir, who topped the field with a time of 25-minutes-03.44 seconds on the 8K course.

Hasan Gill was the first Delaware State runner to cross the finish line, placing 21st among the 78 runners with a time of 27:49.27. DSU’s Corey McGhie was 27th at 28:21.92.
