Free Coronavirus Testing And Flu Shot Information For Next Week In City Of Wilmington

Mayor Mike Purzycki encourages City residents to be tested FREE for COVID-19 next week at one of the test locations available in and around Wilmington. Some sites require you to pre-register or call ahead, and hours will vary at some sites. Flu shots are also available next week.

In addition, COVID-19 testing will be conducted by appointment only at the Henrietta Johnson Medical Center, 601 New Castle Avenue, on the following dates:
- Wednesday, December 9: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Thursday, December 10: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, December 11: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, December 12: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Call 302.655.6187 to schedule an appointment. Henrietta Johnson also offers FREE flu shots Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointment is necessary for flu shots.
Also, the Latin American Community Center (LACC) will host a COVID-19 testing event on Thursday, December 10, from Noon to 2 p.m. on the corner of 4th and Harrison streets. The test will be administered through the nose and results will be available in 4 to 5 business days. The LACC will also offer FREE flu shots at the same location and time. No appointment is necessary and health insurance is not required.
Finally, the Nemours Children’s Health System is sponsoring three FREE flu clinics in the coming weeks, including one on Friday, December 11, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kingswood Community Center, 2300 Bowers Street. The Mayor urges City residents to continue to take precautions to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus by avoiding large crowds, wearing a mask, and washing and sanitizing your hands frequently.
Mayor Purzycki today expressed his thanks to the New Castle County government and the City and State Emergency Management offices for arranging the weekly testing events in Wilmington and throughout New Castle County.
