Rithem Life Sciences Announces Formation of Strategic Advisory Board to Advance Portable Rescue Aids

Wilmington DE – Rithem Life Sciences, a Wilmington, Delaware-based medical device company and developer of safe and efficacious life-saving portable products, has announced the formation of its Strategic Advisory Board.

The Strategic Advisory Board will collaborate with Rithem’s leadership team as the company continues advancing the development of its portable, hands-only CPR aid – ResQR and the automated external defibrillator – JoltzAED. The ResQR is ergonomically designed with advanced features such as a placement indicator as well as metronome and LED light guidance to ensure proper positioning of the hands during chest compressions. This allows for the equal spreading of force across the wider surface area of the sternum to reduce the risk of fractures. It is also equipped with a compression pacing system and built-in modesty and personal protection equipment to avoid unnecessarily exposing the recipient’s chest.

Major General (Ret.) Larry Harrington is a Hall of Fame athlete, highly decorated military leader, accomplished businessman and entrepreneur. He is also an honored public servant, recognized civic leader, and proud family man. Major General Harrington’s career includes assignments in some of the most demanding, complex, and strategically relevant leadership positions. A few highlights of his distinguished career include tactically significant combat assignments, humanitarian relief operations, nation building, and military facilities managements. As an experienced and successful businessman, Major General Harrington has held management and leadership positions in several Fortune 500 companies. As an entrepreneur, he owns several successful small businesses performing work around the world. Major General Harrington has more than 30 years of experience as a volunteer with civic, public, and non-government organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering; an MBA, and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies. As a member of the Rithem Life Sciences team, he brings an impressive level of management expertise and business development knowledge to the group, particularly in U.S. government contracting and strategic management.

Dov Maisel is the Senior Vice President of International Operations for United Hatzalah/Untied Rescue volunteer Emergency Response organizations. He is an active combat medic and a Company Commander in the Israel Defense Forces (Res.), and specializes in a mass disaster, rescue and recovery training for civilians and the military. Maisel is an innovator and inventor of medical technologies and devices implemented in Israel and globally and resides on the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services Magazine (JEMS). In addition to his many fields of expertise, Maisel leads Israeli rescue missions to disaster-struck countries such as Haiti and Nepal and has been spearheading international expansion by helping cities all over the world develop community-based emergency response programs based on the model of United Hatzalah.

A.J. Heightman, MPA, EMT-P, is the Editor-Emeritus of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS), based out of San Diego, CA. He is also an Adjunct Instructor of Clinical Research and Leadership for the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and a member of the San Diego Fire Rescue Academic Advisory Committee. Heightman served as the JEMS Editor-in-Chief for 25 years prior to being honored with Editor Emeritus status. Prior to joining the staff of JEMS, he served for 17 years as Executive Director of the six-county Eastern PA EMS region in Allentown, PA and then as Director of Operations for Cetronia Ambulance in Lehigh County. Throughout his career in Eastern PA, Heightman also served as a paramedic and EMS command officer with the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Dept, and he also served as a part-time paramedic for both the cities of Allentown and Bethlehem EMS divisions. A certified EMS and rescue instructor, He has also served on the faculty of university EMS degree programs; community college emergency service training divisions and fire academies in Pennsylvania. Heightman is widely recognized for his work in the area of EMS management and Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) management. He is a graduate of Temple University and received his master’s degree in Public Administration from Lehigh University.
