Wilmington City government offices will be open on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, the Federal holiday in observance of Veterans Day. As a result, the Department of Public Works’ Sanitation Division will collect trash and recyclables, as well as leaf and yard waste, on its regular schedule. Also, Parking Regulation Enforcement Officers (PREOs) will be enforcing all applicable parking regulations, including those requiring payment at parking meters.
Wilmington observes Veteran’s Day in October because the City’s unions negotiated an additional holiday in October nearly 25 years ago. The City was closed on Monday, October 26 for its early observance of Veterans Day this year.
