Young Wilmington Actress Performs in 'Shrek The Musical'

Jojo Schlecht is going green on the Walnut mainstage as a member of the children's ensemble in Shrek the Musical - playing now through January 5.

Based on the DreamWorks film, Shrek is the story of a reclusive ogre who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess. Complete with new songs and an outrageous cast of fairytale characters, this hilarious musical is entertainment for children and adults alike.

Jojo Schlecht is a 6th grade student and Wilmington, Delaware resident. Last season, Jojo shined on the Walnut stage in Matilda as Matilda’s best friend Lavender. She was most recently seen last spring as a duckling in Delaware Theatre Company’s production of Honk!. Tap is her current favorite form of dancing. When not on stage, JoJo studies piano, enjoys drawing and painting, and reads classic stories like “Little Women."
