Young Wilmington Actress Shines in "Matilda the Musical"

JoJo Schlecht performs on the Walnut Mainstage as Matilda's best friend Lavender in Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical - playing now through January 6, 2019.

Based on the beloved Roald Dahl novel, Matilda is the story of the courageous little girl with an unbounded imagination who proves that despite the odds, you can do anything you put your mind to—and change your destiny. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by this Broadway hit and winner of 16 Best Musical awards!

JoJo Schlecht is a 5th grader at the Ursuline Academy and Wilmington, DE resident. JoJo's previous roles have included "Little Cosette" Les Miserables, "Gracie Shinn" in The Music Man, and "Brigitta" in The Sound of Music. Outside of the musical theatre scene, JoJo also expresses her musicality through violin and clarinet.
