WASHINGTON, DC — There are plenty of things to do and see in the D.C. area this weekend. Some attractions you'll find include: the Fairfax Chocolate Lovers Festival, Washington Auto Show, Chinese New Year Family Celebration, and Ice & Lights Winter Village.

If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, Feb. 1 through Sunday, Feb. 2, you should plan accordingly.

Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend:

Red Line trains will run every 6 to 8 minutes between Shady Grove and Takoma. Due to Purple Line integration, free shuttle buses will replace trains between Fort Totten and Glenmont.

  • Riders traveling to stations beyond Silver Spring must exit at Fort Totten
  • Shuttle buses will operate on two routes
    • Between Fort Totten, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton, and Glenmont (will not stop at Takoma)
    • Between Takoma and Silver Spring
  • Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton, and Glenmont stations will be closed.

Yellow and Green Line trains will operate every 16 minutes and single-track between Mt. Vernon Square/7th St-Convention Center and U St/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo.

Orange, Blue, and Silver Line trains will operate every 12 to 15 minutes.
