Adorable Adoptable Pets Of The Week From Humane Rescue Alliance

These pets are searching for their forever homes. Will it be with you? They currently are at the Humane Rescue Alliance.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available through the Humane Rescue Alliance. One-year-old Arnold is super friendly and house-trained, making him ready to go home right away. He's quick to adapt to new situations and has been described by volunteers and staff as "the perfect dog."

Stewie might be exactly what you need to pull yourself out of a quarantine rut. Stewie would be the perfect fancy friend with his permanent tuxedo. The 11-year-old also is quite charming and has impressive manners. He's lived with cats, dogs and kids in his previous home, but he's also doing well as the only pet in his foster home, so he'll fit in well wherever. Staff describe Stewie as an affectionate love bug who adores chin scratches. He uses the litter box well and can't wait to find his furever family.

Chili just finished weaning her three adorable kittens and now she's ready to head to her new home. She loves looking out the window and being petted. She's a bit shy at first, but incredibly sweet, and once she gets to know you you'll be best friends. Chili would do best in a home that's more on the calm and quiet side. Also, if you're 50 or older, her adoption fee is waived as part of the Humane Rescue Alliance’s Boomer's Buddies program.

Nikki is a 10-year-old Husky who arrived at the rescue in January after being spared from a large-scale cruelty situation. She graduated from a behavioral rehabilitation program with the ASPCA and due to her troubled past, she's a very shy gal and a bit on the skittish/jumpy side, so it's necessary that people approach her slowly and quietly. She'd do best in an adult only house (no apartments) with someone who can spend time with her and help her keep to standard routines. She does enjoy going for walks, taking in all the smells and scenery. In the short time with her foster parent, Nikki has become more relaxed and is learning to trust and feel comfortable. She's a beautiful girl, and, underneath her gorgeous coat, is a dear, sweet dog looking for a new chapter to her senior life.
