WASHINGTON, D.C. — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available through the Humane Rescue Alliance. Dexter is a 7-year-old cat who loves nothing more than loafing around on the couch, chairs, bed, floor, anywhere where he can find a nice patch of sun. This mature guy is looking for a place to chill, nap and enjoy some well-deserved chin scratches.

Apples is a sweet kitty who loves taking naps under the bed and relishing the occasional chin scratch. He has a tiny meow that sounds like a little peep and is so cute. He loves watching the birds out the window and will approach you when he wants attention.

Jiffy loves human company and will follow you everywhere you go. He’s a sweet cuddler and sound sleeper. He loves to chase just about anything including tennis balls, the water out of the water hose, and, when he’s run out of things to chase, he’ll even chase his tail. He has such a sweet and gentle personality you’ll be sure to fall in love in no time.

Eight-year-old Lucy dances with excitement when it's time to go for a walk. She has perfect leash manners, great recall and is very attentive to her handler. Her foster parent loves her eye contact and she checks in for approval when they’re on the trail. She’s taken a few car rides and hops right in, rides uncrated and enjoys looking out the window. Lucy’s foster parents notes that she shows no destruction habits, gets along with other dogs and is very cooperative during bathtime. As an added bonus, if you're 50 and older, Lucy's adoption fee is waived as part of HRA’s Boomer's Buddies program.
