Below Zero Temps To Hit Georgetown

Temperatures are expected to start dropping tonight.

The National Weather Service issued a wind-chill advisory, starting shortly after midnight into late morning on Tuesday.

During that time, NWS predicts temperatures to be in the single digits and teens with wind chills between five and 10 degrees below zero, NWS said.

NWS suggests staying indoors during the wind-chill advisory period. Going outside could be dangerous, NWS said.

"This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken," the advisory said. "If you must venture outdoors, make sure you wear a hat and gloves."

Monday's high temperature is predicted at 42 degrees, but the temperature will drop near 10 degrees by Monday night, NWS said.

Tuesday's high temperature is predicted at 18 degrees, but will be accompanied by a wind chill of around negative three degrees, NWS said.
