Youth For Understanding is a non-profit international educational organization with partners in more than 60 different countries and is one of the world's oldest, largest and most respected intercultural exchange programs. More than 250,000 students and their host families have benefited from the support and expertise of YFU. The YFU global network is united by the belief that full cultural immersion is the most effective means to gain the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly multicultural, interconnected and competitive global society. YFU is fully certified with CSIET in all categories.
Hosting a student is an excellent way to forge cross cultural bonds, and is a learning experience for both the students and their host families. Students are excited to learn about American culture, but love to share aspects of their home culture with the host parents and siblings. This intercultural exchange opens the door for future communication and positive relationships around the world.

YFU has students coming from July 14-Aug 2 this summer and we are looking for host families in the area. Might you or someone you know be interested in hosting? YFU provides English classes and program activities for the students during the weekdays. Students would spend evenings and weekends with their host families. You just provide a bed, three meals a day, access to public transportation (we'll give them a pre-loaded SmarTrip card), and a place in your family! Families shouldn't feel the need to entertain the student as they come curious about "normal life" here in the USA! Students have expressed interest in trying American foods and sports, playing with family pets, and practicing their English skills with their new American friends!
