The Learning and Development Lab is currently looking for children to participate in research!

Dear Parents,
The Learning and Development Lab at Georgetown University is currently looking for children to participate in engaging research on language acquisition and pattern learning! Our studies are designed with young children in mind and we make every visit a fun and educational experience. The success of our research relies on the generosity of local families just like yours. We invite you to visit our lab and have your child participate in one of our child-friendly studies!

All of our studies are single 30-minute sessions, and children receive a small bag of toys, a Georgetown t-shirt, and stickers! We provide free parking at the university and compensate for travel costs.
We are looking for typically developing children between the ages of 4 and 12 years old.

Current Studies:
One of our current studies aims to determine what kinds of patterns are learned more easily. In this study your child will be asked to play a touch screen computer game that is similar to whack-a-mole!
Another current study involves playing a computer game that is focused on teaching the child a miniature alien language! This study will hopefully shed light on how children learn languages and why they are better at learning languages than adults.
Additionally, we hope that the information we gather from our work will benefit children and adults with learning and disabilities and/or brain damage that limit their language learning abilities.
Contact Information:
We would love to have you and your child participate! If you are interested, or have any questions, please contact us at (202) 687-2058 or learninglab@georgetown.edu. More information can be found on our website at learningdevlab.georgetown.edu.
