Construction Break: Metro Work Eases Up for the Holidays

Traveling just got much easier with limited schedule changes in December.

Whether you’re taking planes, trains, or automobiles, traveling and shopping during the holidays can be stressful.

The Metrorail will be making trips easier by easing up on the $5.5 billion rebuilding project until Christmas. There will be limited work being done that will affect train schedules on the weekends.

“Thanks to all of the intense rebuilding work that has happened up to this point, we are in a position where we can ease up on track work for a few weekends and let our customers enjoy the season,” Metro Deputy General Manager Rob Troup said in a news release.

The upgrades to the rails, lighting, communication systems, and more will continue after the holidays.
