Boo at the Zoo (Oct. 18-20)

- Can't wait until the 31st to celebrate Halloween? Boo at the Zoo has you covered. The two-day event features more than 40 treat stations, a dance party, and kids' karaoke. Halloween Spooktacular! (Oct. 20)
- St. John's Episcopal Church is hosting this spine-chilling event. Join organist and composer Dorothy Papadakos, who will showcase her bold improvisational skills on the pipe organ, and watch the cult classic masterpiece "Nosferatu." Nightmare 2019 (Oct. 20)

- The early Halloween music night at The Anthem will feature international and U.S. artists such as Brightside and Gramatik. Doors open at 4 p.m.; and the show starts at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are between $75 and $130. Night of the Living Zoo (Oct. 25)
- This is the Friends of the National Zoo's annual adults-only Halloween party. From 7 to 10:30 p.m., enjoy craft beer, fare from popular D.C. food trucks, a costume competition, a DJ dance party, after-hours access to animal houses and exhibits, and more. Trick or Treat at Tudor Place (Oct. 26)
- If you haven't made the trip yet to Tudor Place — a National Historic Landmark in Georgetown — now is a great time to go. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., your tiny ghoul and goblin can decorate their own pumpkin and haunted house, play traditional outdoor games, and get their face painted. What else: families can meander through the North Garden's paths to find hidden treats. Costumes are suggested. Click here to learn more and get tickets. Nightmare on M Street (Oct. 26)
- On Oct. 26, Dupont Circle comes alive for what event organizers say is the biggest and longest running Halloween party in D.C. Nightmare on M Street offers cover-free admission to bars, drink specials, costume contests, and giveaways. Registration runs from 1 to 7 p.m. Participating businesses include Blackfinn Ameripub, The Big Hunt, Rosebar Lounge, Tokyo Pearl, and Phantom. Of course, you must be at least 21 years old to participate. You also need to have a Lindy ticket to get a wristband. A wristband gets you cover-free entry and drink specials. Eighties Mayhem: '80s Halloween Dance Party (Oct. 26)
- If you like '80s dance parties, then this may be your jam. Starting at 9 p.m., swing by The Black Cat and get down to music by DJ Steve EP, MissGuided, and Killa K. Costumes are encouraged. Halloween Hunt at the Mansion on O (Oct. 27)
- There are more than 100 rooms to explore and 70 secret doors to find during this spooky scavenger hunt. However, finding these secret doors won't be easy, the folks at The Mansion say. If you find two or three of them, you are an above-average sleuth! While you're exploring, see if you can spot the hidden Autumn- and Halloween-themed items. Everything is for sale during this event, so bring your own shopping bags. Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Click here to purchase tickets. Halloween at The LINE DC (Oct. 31)
- The Line DC, a popular Adams Morgan hotel housed in a 110-year-old neoclassical church, is hosting a number of events and activities in honor of All Hallows Eve. From 4 to 6 p.m., there will be free trick-or-treating at Brothers and Sisters (located on the hotel's main level). It's free and open to all.
- During this time, you can also decorate pumpkins on the front steps of the hotel (RSVP required).
- From 7 to 11 p.m., check out a special Halloween edition of CAMP in support of Whitman-Walker Health. The 21+ event includes performances by the queens of GAY BASH DC and costume contests judged by the Whitman-Walker team. Superfine! Art Fair Halloween (Oct. 31)
- You may just find your new favorite local or national artist at Superfine! Art Fair Halloween. There are multiple ticket packages to choose from. For instance, the Art Witch/Wizard package costs $50 and includes performance art, live music, treats, and two complimentary glasses of Warlock's Punch.
