GEORGETOWN, DC — The Dough Jar, the local edible cookie dough pop-up, will open its first brick-and-mortar shop in Georgetown this August.
The store will open at 1332 Wisconsin Ave. NW. on August 4, a spokesperson told Patch.
The Dough Jar serves small-batch, gourmet edible cookie dough that doesn't have raw eggs in it, so it's safe to eat.

The company has served their signature dough jars in local stores, online, on delivery apps like UberEATS and Postmates and at their pop-up shop in Adams Morgan.
"With the success of our pop-up shops and so many inquiries about when we’d get our own spot, it was clear that the next move was our very own brick-and-mortar,” Lindsay Goldin, The Dough Jar's Founder/CEO, said. “It’s time to ‘dough’ big or ‘dough’ home."

In addition to the dough jars, the Georgetown scoop shop menu will include over ten flavors of cookie dough scooped into cups and cones, cookie dough ice cream sundaes, cookie dough milkshakes and more.
“It’s funny because I’m not a baker. I was just looking for something creative and fulfilling to do outside of my day job," Goldin said. "I had a lightbulb moment to try selling cookie dough, I took a risk and quit my job, and it was the best decision I ever made. Getting the scoop shop ready for opening day is one of the most fun things I’ve ever done, and I can’t wait to open the doors to everyone!”
