Lyft is offering free rides to essential workers, low-income families, seniors and other vulnerable residents during the coronavirus crisis.

WASHINGTON, DC — Lyft is offering free scooter trips to essential workers in Washington, D.C. during the coronavirus pandemic.

Essential workers — such as hospital staff, first responders, pharmacists, and grocery store employees — can take advantage of these free 30-minute scooter rides through April 30.

"We are very grateful to companies like Lyft who are working to ease the lives of District residents who are serving on the front lines," District Councilmember Brandon Todd said. "This new initiative will allow essential workers to continue their life-saving work on behalf of our entire community."
